Inkblot

In this project, I created a brand identity for a festival concept. I chose to create a festival that celebrated 1930's rubber hose cartoons titled ‘Inkblot Festival’. This was a really fun exploration as I got the chance to take a deep dive into poster and typographic design from that time period. Along with branding, I was also able to tackle some wayfinding deliverables.

In terms of design choices, I wanted to find a way to bring this vintage art style into the modern era. It was an interesting challenge trying to balance design elements from that time period like the color palette and fonts with contemporary vector graphics. The highlight of this project is the mascot I created, ‘Spot’ The dog. I thought that the mascot would be the perfect complement to this festivals branding.
