JAMAICA 2028
This project explores the design of a cohesive wayfinding and environmental graphic design system for a hypothetical 2028 Olympic Games in Kingston, Jamaica. It focuses on creating a clear, accessible, and culturally grounded navigation experience that supports both visitors during the Games and local communities long after the event has ended. The system includes maps, signage, pictograms, and environmental applications, all connected through a unified visual language rooted in movement, hierarchy, and clarity.
A key driver of the project is the impact of Hurricane Melissa, which highlighted the vulnerability of Jamaica’s infrastructure and the need for more resilient, long-term solutions. In response, the project emphasizes sustainability and durability through the use of materials such as galvanized steel, aluminum, and modular components that can withstand environmental conditions and be reused or adapted over time. Rather than treating the Olympics as a temporary moment, this system is designed to contribute to rebuilding efforts and leave behind infrastructure that continues to serve the community.
